The Centre for Applied Ethics is a part of Linköping University. Here researchers, teachers and students meet to work together on ethical issues. The last decades we have seen a growing interest in ethics and in applied ethics in particular. We face a number of new ethical challenges.

In any case, a course in research ethics can be useful in helping to prevent deviations from norms even if it does not prevent misconduct. Education in research ethics is can help people get a better understanding of ethical standards, policies, and issues and improve ethical judgment and decision making. Faculty Research Ethics Committees are charged by the University to consider the ethics of proposed research projects which will involve human subjects and to agree or not as to whether the projected research is ethical. Faculty Research Ethics Committees must be consulted about any research proposals which involve: Research ethics internal webpages.
